Facet Joint Injections

Learn about this procedure and watch a detailed video that shows you exactly what is involved.

A facet joint is a joint found on the back of the spine on both sides of each vertebrae. These joints like any other joint can become inflamed, compressed and irritated. By doing a facet joint injection the physician will injection a solution containing pain medication and an anti-inflammatory into the area of concern. This procedure is used for mostly diagnostic purposes as the effects of the injection are not permanent. If the pain is relieved the physician can then move forward with a treatment plan with more longevity and will have determined the precise location of the pain.
